As we count down the arrival of our baby girl (could be any day now!), I thought I’d share some of my favorite pregnancy products that have been my “must haves” for the last 10 months.
- Waiting in Wonder Pregnancy Journal – This is hands down my most used and cherished pregnancy item. It was gifted to me by my best friend’s mom as soon as I announced I was pregnant, and it has been such a blessing. It takes you through each week of your pregnancy by providing updates on baby’s development, gives you Scriptures to meditate on, a few short journal questions to answer, and tells you specifically what you should be praying for that week. Through all the ups and downs during pregnancy, this devotional has been a constant reminder of God’s love for me and the miracle growing inside me. I would HIGHLY recommend to expectant mothers!
- Nourishing Lip Treatment – I typically have dry skin, but with all the crazy pregnancy hormones my skin has been even dryer – especially my lips. I’ve had to keep a good moisturizing lip balm or treatment on my lips at all times to keep them from cracking. The Fresh Advanced Therapy Lip Balm and Bite Agave Lip Mask (I only use this one at night because it’s super thick/tacky) have been my go-to’s.
- Splendid Maternity Leggings – My best friend let me borrow these and I have just about worn them out. They feel like butter and are the most comfortable leggings I’ve ever worn. They are nice and thick, stay in place and they’ve held up to weekly washings without fading. I’m going to miss wearing these when I’m not pregnant anymore!
- My Pillow – Yes, I’m talking about the pillow from the cheesy infomercials. It’s amazing and you need one in your life. I actually have two so I used the second one between my legs/under my belly for support. I tried the Snoogle which I know so many people love, but it really just didn’t do anything for me (too firm and hard under my neck).
- Swell Water Bottle – You need to drink A LOT of water when you’re pregnant so I’ve had either my Swell Water Bottle or Yeti on me at all times.
- Comfortable Sneakers – I already lived in sneakers before pregnancy, but for the last 10 months these Nike Juvenate’s are pretty much all I have worn. Whether I’ve been going to the gym (which has majorly slowed down towards the end), running errands or even just walking around the house, these super comfortable and supportive sneakers have been key.
- Honest Pre-Natal Vitamins – I researched a lot of different pre-natal vitamins before I eventually landed on these. I wanted something that was non-GMO and whole food based (which means the ingredients were sourced from whole foods and were not created synthetically), and that would be easy on my stomach no matter when I took them. I have had zero issues with these and would definitely recommend (I also took their DHA). The only con is that you have to take three pills as it is not a one-a-day vitamin.
- Brining Up Bébé – This is the only baby/parenting book I read and it was honestly so enjoyable and insightful. It reads like a fictional novel and is very entertaining, while also offering helpful advice. Everything the author suggested seems common sense, which makes it easy to commit to actually doing. If you’re going to read a book before/shortly after having a child, this is the one. Loved it!
- Burt’s Bee’s Belly Butter – I started slathering this stuff on every night pretty early on and I’m pleased to say I don’t have any stretch marks. I researched a lot of different “stretch mark” balms, oils, etc. and not only did this one have thousands of rave reviews on Amazon, but it has clean ingredients and is only $12 (and I’ve had the same tub the whole time). I’ve also seen it at Target.
- Baby Pics App – If you want to document each week of your pregnancy and add a cute text graphic to it (you know the ones like “this week my baby is the size of a pineapple”), this app is great!
