I shared my Good Things from 2018 and thought it’d be fun to share my Favorite Things as well! From the softest $25 sheets and the best pair of slimming jeans, to prayer journals and podcasts, here are some of my favorite finds from 2018:
- Val Marie Paper Prayer Journal: This has been my favorite product for the last two years and I know 2019 will be no exception. I’ve never been a great “journaler” so the simple structure and monthly prompts have been instrumental in helping me cultivate a more focused, intentional and purposeful prayer life. I love it so much that I’ve bought several for my friends. If you want make prayer a priority and deepen a relationship with Jesus, I can’t recommend this resource enough!
- Primally Pure Deodorant: This summer, I found the unicorn of natural deodorants: Primally Pure deodorant. After being diagnosed with PCOS two years ago, I decided to make the switch from synthetic deodorants to a natural/non-toxic version per the recommendation of my wholistic nutritionist. It has been a long journey trying to find one that’s healthy for me and my body AND that actually works. I’ve tried at least a dozen but they either made me smell worse than my natural BO, gave me a rash or were sticky and didn’t keep me dry. Well, I finally found my perfect match thanks to Primally Pure. No smell, no itch, no stickyness… it’s amazing! (Use code MYCAH10 to receive 10% off your purchase).
- Everybody Always: My favorite book of 2019! It’s easy to read, humorous and packed with simple truths about the Gospel. Highly recommend!
- Podcasts: I know I’m a little late to the party, but this year I discovered the power of the podcast! I love listening to these on walks or when I’m in the car and turning an otherwise mundane task into a time of learning and growth. Some of my favorites are Don’t Mom Alone, The Goal Digger, That Sounds Fun, Cultivate Your Life and Journey Women.
- Beautycounter Shampoo and Conditioner: After a lot of trials and errors, I can now confidently say that I found the best natural shampoo and conditioner that works for me and my hair (I have very fine hair that’s also suffered a lot of postpartum shedding). I put out a request on Instagram for natural shampoo recommendations a few months back and I received an overwhelming response about Beautycounter. I bought some during their Black Friday sale and I’m never going back!
- Go Raw Cookies: I discovered these Go Raw Lemon Cookies this fall and have not stopped eating them. They only have 6 ingredients are gluten free, dairy free and nut free. They’re even made in a dedicated nut free facility (huge for this girl who has a severe peanut allergy!).
- Golde Tumeric Drink: My hairdresser introduced me to this stuff a few months ago and I’m obsessed! Did you know turmeric is a potent anti-inflammatory? I mix a little bit of this with hot water and honey for a nourishing blend of turmeric with creamy coconut and ginger. It’s so good!
- Madewell Jeans: These were my favorite clothing purchase of 2018. This particular rise has a supersleek effect, thanks to a tricky detail—Magic Pockets in front that offer an extra layer of holds-you-in sorcery for the slimmest, smoothest look yet. They are a great quality and I know I’ll be wearing these for years.
- Salad Chopper: I’m so happy I discovered this awesome kitchen tool this year! I eat a lot of salads, but cutting up all the ingredients can be quite tedious. With this, you just throw everything in the bowl and in only a few seconds, you have chopped salad perfection.
- Budget Friendly Sheets: One of my goals this fall was to make our guest room cozy without spending a lot of money. I scored several budget friendly finds, including these $25 sheets that feel just like the ones at a fancy hotel. To shop more of my guest room refresh, click here.
