- We celebrated Todd and I’s birthdays! I turned 31 on the 19th and Todd turned 34 on the 28th. We celebrated with a lovely dinner out to this new restaurant in town. Their crispy Brussels sprouts were one of the most delicious things I’ve ever eaten.
- Lively took her first steps on my birthday!!! It was so special and a birthday gift I’ll never forget.
- I’ve been fortunate to preview my friend Val Woerner’s new book, Grumpy Mom Takes a Holiday. I’m seven chapters in and have pretty much underlined half of every page. I can already tell it’s going to be a resource I refer back to often and it’s one I think EVERY mom needs to read. There’s so much wisdom and encouragement from a Biblical perspective and one of my favorite things are the practical action steps and powerful prayers at the end of each chapter. It releases in April but you can pre-order it now on Amazon.
- My best friend sent me a beautiful bouquet from Farmgirl Flowers for my birthday. Receiving fresh flowers always brings me so much joy!
- This podcast on marriage from Don’t Mom Alone. So so good.
- I made Lindsay Kingdon’s short ribs recipe for Valentine’s Day and they were unbelievable. This will be my new go-to for a special meal.
- I rarely buy new shoes (especially ones that are expensive and aren’t from Target), but these in particular caught my eye and I felt would be a classic pair of sandals that were worth the investment. My initial thought is that they run narrow and were going to give me blisters, but after wearing them for an entire weekend they were surprisingly comfortable and I didn’t get any blisters.
- Amy Beth Campbell shared a quote about Home Goods and now I will always think of this whenever I visit HG… “You can’t go in there looking for something. It has to find you.”😂 This couldn’t be more true! If you’re not following Amy on Instagram or reading her blog, you should check her out. I love that we have such similar styles and interests + she has a beautiful heart for Jesus!
- I think I may have done this in January, but I set a daily limit for myself on Instagram and it has been wonderful. I set my limit for 1 hour per day. When I get the notification that I’ve reached my daily limit, I sign off. Here’s a quick tutorial on how to do that.
- I asked for one thing for my birthday and this was it. I’ve never owned an electric toothbrush and oh my goodness it’s been a game changer! My teeth feel so much cleaner!!
