I’ve only had one facial in my life. It was a few years ago and someone generously gifted it to me as a thank you gift. Not only was the facial incredibly relaxing, but my skin felt so soft, clean and balanced afterwards. It was an experience I have wanted to relive many times, but if you’ve ever looked at the average price for a facial, then you’ve noticed it’s not the most economically savvy routine for skin care.
A few months ago, I ran out of face wash and decided to peruse the Primally Pure website to see what they had available. I noticed they didn’t offer any traditional soap-based face washes, but instead had a cleansing oil that was customized for various skin types (dry, normal and oily). I started reading some of the reviews and saw a fellow customer describe it as a “spa experience in a bottle” and that it was like giving yourself a “mini at-home facial.” My interest was peeked. I thought for the $20 price tag it sounded a little too good to be true, but decided to give it a try.
Before I started using the oil, I watched this video tutorial on Primally Pure’s blog. It’s packed with lots of great info + a step-by-step visual of how to properly use the oil. I started following the instructions they suggested and after 5 months of oil cleansing here’s what I think….
I love it. I look forward to washing my face every night. I follow the steps provided in the video, including laying the hot wash cloth on my face once I’ve massaged with the oil, and I really do feel like I’m getting a mini at-home facial every night. I did experience some breakouts around my forehead and chin in the first few weeks (very common), but once my skin adjusted it has remained clear and balanced. The smell is lovely and the best part is it only contains a few simple, clean ingredients – all of which you can recognize and pronounce. My skin has never looked and felt healthier.
After I use my Cleansing Oil for Normal Skin, I follow with their Everything Spray as my toner (I also like to spritz this on my underarms before bed at night), and finish with either their Blue Tansy Beauty Cream or my Vitner’s Daughter Active Botanical Serum. On days when I wear a full face of makeup, I will double cleanse and follow my cleansing oil with One Love Organics Easy Does it Cleanser.
If you want all the benefits of a facial, but not the price tag that comes with it, I encourage you to try Primally Pure’s cleansing oil method. Not only has it done wonders for my skin, but I truly look forward to this relaxing experience at the end of each day. I think every busy woman/mom should treat herself to one. (this would make a great Mother’s Day gift too!!!) 🙂
If you want to try PP’s cleansing oil, don’t forget to use my discount code MYCAH10. It’s good for 10% off your first purchase of any products. I have a deep love for their deodorant and so many other favorites that I’ve linked here.
