For preservation sake, I’m sharing an update on my sweet Lively girl as we celebrate her 18 month “birthday” today!
Weight and Height: 24 lbs and 32 inches
Eating: She’s an amazing eater and I pray she stays this way! Some of her favorite things are avocado with “everything but the bagel” seasoning, my chicken fried cauliflower rice and zucchini noodles with ground turkey + marinara sauce. She loves sunbutter, eggs and chia seed pudding that I make with coconut milk. I reserve fruit as more of a treat and her favorites are strawberries and mee-mees (blueberries).
Sleeping: she sleeps from 7:30 pm – 7:00 am and takes 2, two-hour naps a day (thank you, Lord!)
Talking: This week, I started a note in my iPhone titled “Lively’s words at 18 months” and have been jotting down cute things as she says them. For the most part, she says things how they normally sound, but there’s a handful of words that she’s come up with her own version of or some that she says backwards. It’s quite precious and I never want to forget them!
Wawa – water
Bit-bay – bathing suit
Up – when she wants to get up or down she says “up”
Rrrrr-ock – cracker, we think saying cracker backwards
Mapes – grapes
Mee-mees – blueberries
Dook – book
Moon – spoon
Boom boom – for thunder when it’s raining
Gahs – eggs backwards
She loves to hold my finger and “twirl, twirl, twirl!”
Favorite Book: Barnyard Dance – we read this multiple times every day! Todd and I really get into singing and clapping the words and she gets sooooo excited and starts clapping and spins around the entire time. She also likes 10 Little Ladybugs and and I can’t read When I Pray for You without tearing up! I just ordered this book for myself and also want to read this soon!
Favorite Toys: Teapot Set, this set of golf clubs, and this xylophone/piano. – though she’s perfectly content playing with spoons and bowls from the kitchen
Favorite Song: Jesus Loves Me & Old Macdonald
Favorite Game: Hide and seek behind her closet door
Other loves: the beach and pulling her wagon, checking on the flowers in her garden, playing in the sprinkler, organizing items in cabinets or the pantry, pushing her babydolls, doing a “roll call” of family member’s names, and going on “magic carpet rides” aka Todd pulls her around the living room on a blanket 🙂
Products I like: Bella Tuno bibs, these bubbles that are great for sleeping or play, this morning multi vitamin, this yeti-style cup (heads up it’s not spill proof but we haven’t had too many issues with it), still using this old faithful shopping cart cover on trips to the grocery store and in high chairs in restaurants, she pretty much wears these shoes or these every day, and my go-to hair bows are linked here.
My prayer for her, just as it’s always been, is that her heart would belong to Jesus and that she would walk with Him all the days of her life.
My sweet older friend, Nancy, shared a prayer with me that she would pray over her children when they were younger. I loved it so much that Todd and I have memorized it by heart and we pray it over Lively every night. It has become such a treasure to me that I wanted to share it with you here too. It’s a beautiful prayer to pray over anyone you love, not just children!
Dear Jesus,
Give ___________ grace and peace, health and healing, holiness and godliness, abundance and prosperity, and all the fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit. Give her wisdom and discernment, an attitude of gratitude, to be inspired and not impulsive and to hunger after you, Lord. Amen.
