Lively is two today.
Oh my heart!
This past week I spent some time looking back at pictures and videos of the day she was born, re-reading her birth story, last year’s first birthday letter and reminiscing on her first birthday party…
It all feels like yesterday and a lifetime ago at the same time.
She has changed my life and heart in ways I could have never imagined and when I stop to think about it, I’m left speechless and in complete awe of my amazing God who formed her inside me. These last two years with her have been the greatest gift I have ever known.
She is thoughtful, patient, respectful, brave, funny, generous and kind. She loves to read (current favorites are Madeline, In My Heart, Little His Majesty, Bible ABC’s and Through Your Eyes – I could recite all of these to you by heart, eat “moo moos” (blueberries) and asks for them about every 15 minutes, always eager to “help mommy” especially cooking and doing the dishes, go to church, run laps around the kitchen while yelling “you can’t catch me!”, Buh-buh’s (bunnies), made potty-training a breeze, walking around our neighborhood in hopes of seeing “puppies” and going to ballet class – this week her teacher told me she has excellent rhythm and as a former dancer I was both proud and thankful that she does not take after her dad who bless his heart cannot clap on beat.😂
Thank you, Lord, for allowing Todd and me to partner with you as Lively’s parents. You are so amazing and we know that all the amazing things we love about her are because of You, not us.
We have celebrated our two year old girl today with a zillion kisses and hugs, blueberry paleo pancakes for breakfast, balloons all over the floor, singing happy birthday, reading books and lunch at Zoe’s Kitchen with Daddy and Mimi. Tomorrow we will have a small get together at home with all the people that love Lively the most and I will be whispering in my heart the entire time, thank you, Jesus, for precious Lively.
Happy birthday, baby girl! I love you with all my heart!
