This post was originally titled, “Summer Bucket List” but that felt like too much pressure. So instead we’re going with “Things I Want to Do This Summer” because that’s more realistic in this season of life with two littles. 🙂
Last summer, Cameron was still practically a newborn so we spent most of our days at home. The days were long, but boy did that season fly bye in the blink of an eye. This year they are at such fun ages (4 yrs old and 15 mo) and I’m looking forward to some simple summer fun with them, as well as giving my own to-do list some needed attention {i.e. Cameron’s baby book – second child problems! I had Lively’s completely finished before her first birthday party haha}. In an effort to be intentional, I thought I’d write them down and share with you here!
- Enjoy our garden and take homemade arrangements to neighbors.
- Watch caterpillars change into butterflies and release them into our garden.
- Shop as much as possible at the the farmer’s market.
- Memorize the “Fruits of the Spirit” with Lively using this book as a teaching tool.
- Make homemade peach ice cream – this recipe looks perfect.
- Take meals to my friends who have summer babies + friends/family undergoing cancer treatment.
- Work on Cameron’s baby book.
- Introduce the kids to classic literature through Do Say Give’s summer book club. I love the simple sweetness behind this program and look forward to taking the kids to the library for the first time! You can use code MYCAH20 for 20% off your registration.
- Host at least one outdoor dinner in our backyard.
- Read a lighthearted, rom com type book just for fun – picked up this book and so far it’s really cute!
- Have a picnic at Maclay Gardens.
- Have a date night with Todd and try a new restaurant in town.
