Yesterday we surprised Lively with a trip to Disney for her fifth birthday! I put these mouse ears and an Elsa dress from Target in a gift bag for her to open during breakfast. Her reaction was something like “oh cool… are there any more presents?” Haha! Which is about what we expected since she’s never been and has no idea what’s in store. I haven’t been in 25 years so it feels a little bit like I’ll be experiencing it for the first time too!
I started planning this trip last August with the help of my friend and Disney travel expert, Mary Helen, and can’t believe it’s almost here. Side note: if you are planning a Disney trip for the first time as a parent, it can feel very overwhelming. Mary Helen has been the biggest blessing helping me book our hotel, determine which parks to visit, make dining reservations, and so many other details I wouldn’t have known about if it weren’t for her expertise. Highly, highly recommend using her to book your trip!
Ok now on to the packing… I’ve been gathering items the last few weeks and thought I’d share since Florida winter is tricky. It’s been pretty cold in the morning, but usually warms up for a pleasant afternoon. For me, I’m planning on athleisure layers that I can remove as it warms up, a few casual dresses, swimsuit for the heated indoor pool at our hotel, and comfy but cute sneakers that are versatile enough to be worn with both athleisure and dresses. We’ve had a lot of rain lately so I’ll bring this rain jacket just in case. For Lively, I’m bringing a few Disney themed smocked dresses and tops (thanks McKenzie for letting me borrow!), a pair of leggings, mary jane style sneakers, swimsuit, a sweater + jacket, and of course a soft Elsa dress that can be worn over any of her outfits for whenever she wants to be in character. 🙂
