If you ask me, picking the perfect paint color for a room is one of the trickiest—and yet most important—parts of making a house feel like home. The right hue can set the whole mood, and even just a shade or two off can impact your whole vision. Over the years, as we’ve been updating and reimagining each room throughout our old Southern home, I’ve come to consider myself something of a self-proclaimed paint color expert.
To make it a little easier for y’all, I’ve put together a list of my most asked-about paint colors below (click here to see the abbreviated version on Instagram). Trust me when I say, these are some of the best!
Parma Gray
Farrow & Ball
We used this soft, muted gray with blue undertones from Farrow & Ball to bring life to our living room built-ins. The blue/gray combination creates a serene atmosphere that feels both timeless and fun.

White Tie
Farrow & Ball
Surprisingly, shades of white can be some of the toughest to pick. I fell in love with a warmer cream color for the main cabinetry in our kitchen because of how inviting it made the room. It gives off such a soft glow, especially in the morning.

Vert De Terre
Farrow & Ball
For the rest of the kitchen I knew I wanted to go with a muted mossy green color, which is exactly what Vert De Terre is. It gives depth to the space while remaining understated, not stealing the show.

Camellia Pink
Benjamin Moore
Lively’s room was one of the first to be designed when we moved into this home. I’m a wallpaper lover so her walls are covered, but this gave me the chance to have fun with the trim. I thought this blush pink from Benjamin Moore added to the girly charm.

Fanfare
Benjamin Moore
Fanfare is the perfect powder blue for a baby boy’s nursery. It’s fresh and fun, but not too overwhelming.

White Dove
Benjamin Moore
If you’re looking for a true white that’s still soft and dreamy, this is the one. It’s used for the trim throughout most of our home and I’ve loved it for years!
