I am so excited to share Lively’s nursery with you today! As soon as we found out we were having a girl, I immediately started dreaming up this sweet and girly space. I had so much fun putting it all together alongside Ashley Cortese Designs and could not be happier with how it turned out.
My first thought was to keep the room neutral like the rest of our house. I was looking at blush nurseries with neutral textures for inspiration and was pretty confident that was the route I would take. But as I continued to look around on Pinterest I noticed I was consistently drawn to rooms that had a fun wallpaper. I had seen the English Garden wallpaper by Caitlin Wilson Design on Instagram and thought that it could be a good fit and that it would compliment the light gray paint color that was already in the room. I was a little nervous because I had never wallpapered anything before, but Ashley convinced me to go for it and I’m so glad I did. As dramatic as it might look, it does not overwhelm you when you’re in the room, but instead adds the perfect amount of visual interest to the room’s design. Not to mention, there is something so elegant and joyful about the floral design that makes me smile every time I look at it!
I had the classic Jenny Lind spindle crib picked out (probably before I was even pregnant) and the dresser was a hand-me-down from a sweet friend. We just gave it a fresh coat of white paint and added the fun blocked marble knobs from Anthropologie. I had my heart set on this cool light fixture from RH Baby & Child, but Ashley helped me find this look-a-like version for half the price!
As a mom of three boys, I trusted Ashley entirely with the glider selection. She recommended this one by CR Laine as she had used it personally in her boys’ nursery. This was our one splurge piece in the room and it was worth it. The plush seat cushions could not be more comfortable and the tall, curved back provides ample support while rocking a sweet babe. We absolutely love this chair and cannot recommend it enough!
I found the blush buffalo check pillow cover on Etsy and love how it pairs with the Moroccan pouffe and the fun, tasseled black-out drapes. The white book-ledges were a complete steal ($6.99!) and I loved filling them with some of my favorite children’s books (pretty sure I read Madeline 1,000 times when I was little!).
Sophisticated and sweet, Lively’s nursery has become my favorite room in the house! I love that it will grow with her and transition into the perfect big girl room…. but hopefully not too soon. 🙂
