Interested in removing grains from your diet, but don’t want to part ways with your beloved sandwich bread? I can help!
I’ve been grain free for two years now (still eat them on occasion, just no longer a staple in my diet) and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss bread. Especially when I’m in the mood for a good old-fashioned turkey sandwich. Thankfully, there are now countless ways to make a traditional tasting bread both grain-free and delicious. I love following @lilsipper who is the queen of grain-free and gut-healthy breads/desserts in my opinion. Thanks to her inspiration I’ve started to experiment with some of my own, like this Super Simple Seed Bread. It’s completely free of grains, dairy and nuts and is paleo and low carb friendly!
One of the keys to this delicious bread is Go Raw’s Sprouted Super Simple Seeds which have 7g of plant-based protein per serving and are an excellent source of antioxidants, Vitamin E, and minerals. With no added salt, this pumpkin and sunflower seed mix is perfect for recipes.
This bread could not be easier to make because you literally do it all in your blender. I usually make a batch at the beginning of the week, but because Lively and Todd are also fans it never lasts more than 2-3 days. I love using it for avocado toast and it tastes divine with some of my Classic Chicken Salad wedged between two slices.
If you give the bread a try I’d love to hear what you think! Tag me on Instagram and use the hashtag #HSHeats
- 2 cups Go Raw Super Simple Seeds
- ½ cup ground flax seed
- 5 eggs
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp coconut sugar
- 2 tbsp melted coconut oil
- 1 tsp baking powder
- Place seeds in a high-powered blender (I use my Vitamix) and pulse until course and crumbly.
- Add remaining ingredients then blend for 30-60 seconds or until smooth.
- Pour into greased loaf pan and bake at 350 for 25 min.
- This step is optional, but if you want to make it look a little fancy, sprinkle 1-2 tbsp of the seeds over the batter before putting into the oven.
