Slowly but surely we are making progress on the house! Lively’s room is almost finished and Mackenzie and I have started brainstorming fabrics for our living room. While we’re still a ways away from the major renos {gutting the kitchen and bathrooms} I’m SO excited about some of the smaller projects we’ve started tackling like updating our exterior and interior door hardware. Even though our Southern Living home is 30 years old and the style is pretty traditional, the door knobs were sadly 90’s builder grade. I’ve been determined to add more charm and character back into the home and Emtek‘s timeless brass hardware was the perfect place to start!
For the two front doors, I wanted something classic that will never go out of style. Something you would find on a historical home, while still looking modern and fresh. After reviewing Emtek‘s many timeless styles, Mackenzie helped me hone in on the Adams Tubular Entry Set in unlacquered brass and I couldn’t be more in love! It has just the right amount of traditional lines, feminine curves and the brass has already begun its beautiful patina that happens over time with repeated handling. It’s stunning and I know is just going to get better and better!
The inside trim features a gorgeous egg knob handle that feels so fitting for this Southern colonial home. We decided to carry the same egg knob shape throughout the rest of the house and went with the Rectangular Rosette Egg Knob in French Antique for all of the bedroom and closet doors. Aren’t they beautiful?!
Not only is Emtek‘s hardware gorgeous, but incredibly solid. The quality is amazing and unlike anything I have ever had in a home. We can’t wait to use Emtek’s cabinet hardware when the time comes to renovate our kitchen and bathrooms.
Swapping out our dated door knobs for Emtek’s vintage inspired hardware was a simple way to add character to our home and instantly elevate the space. I couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out and can’t recommend Emtek enough.
