Last weekend we took a trip to 30A for one last summer hurrah before school started. We had the BEST time swimming, shopping, eating and soaking up all the beachy things. A few years ago I created a detailed 30A travel guide and while much of that remains the same, I thought I’d share my current top five favorite things along 30A in case you’re planning a trip this fall!
STAY IN WATERSOUND
There are tons of places to stay along 30A – Rosemary Beach, Seacrest, Alys Beach, Seagrove, Seaside, Watercolor and Grayton Beach – but let me tell you Watersound is where it’s at right now! We stayed at the new Camp Creek Inn that just opened at the beginning of July and it was awesome. The highlight for us was definitely the pool which features a lazy river, slide (for bigger kids), zero entry points and fountains which was perfect for our littles. Staying at Camp Creek gives you access to the Watersound Beach Club which has an equally if not more amazing pool that’s just a few steps from the beach. We spent most of our time hopping back and forth between the two pools and the beach. We loved how family friendly everything was and that it wasn’t super crowded.
FONVILLE PRESS
Fonville Press is part chic cafe, market and coffee bar and is very Instagram worthy with it’s pink umbrellas and gold accents. We ate at Fonville Press every morning for breakfast and sometimes in the afternoon for a snack or iced decaf latte. A must visit!
LUMINARY BOUTIQUE
Luminary is my favorite boutique. They offer a mix of high and low women’s fashions, shoes, accessories and home decor. I feel inspired as soon as I walk in the door and never leave the shop empty handed.
GEORGE’S IN ALYS BEACH
We’ve eaten at George’s many times over the years and it never disappoints. It is truly some of the best seafood I’ve ever eaten. The restaurant has a beautiful coastal vibe and is super kid friendly. It checks all the boxes for us!
BEACH PHOTOS WITH CHRISTINE MITCHELL
I’d been wanting to take family beach photos all summer and decided to pull the trigger on our recent visit. Your options are pretty much sunrise or sunset and with littles that go to bed at 7:30 every night, we opted for sunrise. The early wake up call was SO worth for the gorgeous pink sunrise. Christine Mitchell took our photos and she became an instant friend. She is so sweet and amazing with kiddos. Cannot recommend her enough if you’re looking for a photographer in 30A!
